Dame Elisabeth Murdoch

I'm in love ... but do long-distance relationships really work? On holidays in Tasmania recently, I saw a mass planting of Dame Elisabeth Murdoch which was stunning, stunning, stunning. I'd love to plant it but our climate here is very different to Tassie. I am in Newcastle, 2 hours north of Sydney, 15 minutes from the coast. Does anyone grow this rose in similar conditions to mine - and if so, how does it do?

She is beautiful isnt she? I live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and all I can say is she coped beautifully with the incredible heat we had last week. Not one fried bloom while many others around her did not cope. Id give it a go! cheers pam
