Some of my rose buds look as if they have been eaten right at the tips of the flower buds and under the still closed calix? the edges of the young petals have turned dark brown and they struggle to open. I have seen in one of the books that it may be thrip, what can I treat them with that is invironmently safe. I have cut open one of the buds and found several tiny light coloured head lice looking things.
(Or is it sun burn? ) |

| i don't know if there is an environmentally safe cure. I read to use an insecticide with a bit sugar in the mix to draw them out and then kill them. I have one rose that seem to need repeated treatment, but it works. Ann |
