nematode problem

Hi,we have a major nematode problem in our vegetable garden and need help on how to rid the garden of them, please. We live in the central desert of WA, water is nor a problem, natural spring, soil is the classic red of the outback. Please help, thank you.

g'day stephanie,

sugar/molassus is a good remedy as is the use of shredded up marigolds, dug in and let to decompose before planting take place. see my remedies page for some recipes. also if you practise crop rotation then there is a good chance the nematodes won't gather in the first instance, companion planting can also help ie.,. garlic chives planted as parameter plants along with the mini-marigolds.
