Would anyone know where I could see a picture of one of these?
I have a number of ladybirds in the garden which have odd markings (only a few spots and not really 'spots' even). I'd like to make sure I'm not carefully tending baddies.
I've looked but can't seem to find any soecific pics on the net.
The 26-28 spot ladybird is really only a problem with vege crops, so if youv'e got ladybirds on your flowers they are probably the predatory ones, I had a look at the link above and it says the 26-28 spot ladybirds are usually found on potato leaves and as potatoes are from the Solanaceae family there are a few ornamental flowering plants in this family that could possibly be infected by them, but I think this would be pretty unlikely, but as I have had experience with this ladybird I do know that they are also a pest to plants in the Cucurbitaceae family, last season I had to destroy my crop of cucumbers before they had even flowered, but I was lucky enough to save my pumpkin plants. I hope this has been of help to you. regards, Annette.
