Hi Guys
I have a clover invasion in my buffalo lawn. Problem is that all of the sprays state not to use clover specific spray on buff !!!

Any idea's how to kill the clover but keep the buff ?? The clover is everywhere !!!

Thanks

Steve

There is a spray put out by Yates(I think) that was safe for Buffalo. Wasnt really that effective when I used it on couch and Kikuyu lawns though- with the intention of using it on a Buffalo lawn. The clover browned off a bit but a few weeks later it was back to normal. Cant remember the name of it now. It was in a metal jar, and was only small. It might have just been called ' Bindii and clover ' something like that. I'll find out what it was called in a couple of days.

Same problem here; I'm less interested than I could be in lawn grass but have had a bit of a play with sulphate of ammonia sprinkled on dewy clover and hosed off fairly promptly. Managed to kill buffalo and all with urea, obviously a bit heavy handed. Anyway, the theory is that N fertilisers sicken the nitrogen fixing weed, is it not? Rose.

Bindii and Broadleaf is the name of the stuff that is supposed to be safe on Buffalo. Another option is to use a pre-emergent herbicide on your lawn next year before the Clover starts growing again. This will stop the seed from germinating, but it has to be applied regularly.
