A general question - I need to make my soil a bit more acid for a couple of new plants. How do I do this?

g'day laura,

your probably a bit hidden away here in the pest forum, might get more responses over in the garden forum or the cornucopia forum.

anyhow this is what i have heard of, pine needles or shredded pine bark.

Len - I have just looked at your site and I lOVE IT! I have added it to my favourites and I am going to refer to it for my vegie patch.

I thought I might tell you of my weed killing solution for pavers: I tip the left over hot boiled water everytime I make myself a tea - on weeds growing in my paving.....absolutely organic - and kills EVERYTHING! :))

I've found an acidic mulch works wonders long term if renewed and can be used specifically around those acid loving plants - as well as pine needles, there's sawdust, composted leaves, wood chips and if you want to spend money, peat moss.
