indoor bamboo pests

we have a 1 year old black bamboo which continually becomes infected with bugs/thrips or something.
with a magnifying glass you can see them crawling all over the onderside of the leaf.
the leaves are translucent after attack.
we have used condifor without success..
any ideas??
