I have several hibiscus plants in the ground and also in huge tubs. Suddenly the plants in the tubs are turning bright yellow and shedding whereas, so far the plants in the ground are fine. The plants are 4 years old.Very grateful for any advice.

Could be lack of water, even if you water plants in pots sometimes the water just runs straight through around the edges, add some water crystals or wetta soil.

Is there anyway you can emerge your pots so that water covers them, if not get some corks push them in the drain holes and water the pots slowly so that the mix get saturated then take the corks out.

Then again maybe they need to be repotted,is there still plenty of potting mix or are the pots full of roots, then maybe the pots are to small for them.

They usually drop leaves when they are stressed, so give them a good water and see if there is any difference, do not fertilize now, but if in a few weeks they get new growth do it then. Hopes this helps ---- MM.

My guess would be a lack of water. Pots run out of water and Fert very quickly, and the non wetting potting mixes are hard to re-wet
