Cycads Revoluta Problem: Burnt Tips, Yellowing Leaves

| Hi, I would appreciate if anybody could help me with the following query.
I have several six year old Cycads Revoluta growing as understorey plants in a raised garden bed along with Foxtail Palms in SE Qld.
More recently I have discovered that apart from my Cycads being infected with scale, one Cycad in particular is also showing the following symptoms and I can't determine if this is potassium or magnesium deficiency or phosphorous toxicity.
The plant displays burnt tips on both new/old leaves, followed by yellowing of the leaf, then to yellow/green mottling towards the midrib. This Cycad is also about the sprout new leaves and these also appear to be a pale green/yellow colour. We have been feeding these plants with CK88. Is somebody able to please tell me what have I done to my plant and how can I improve on its appearance and vigour?? Many thanks. |

| My plant is over fifteen years old, has three suckers, this year it began to grow beautifully (at Last!) and suddenly the fronds are turning yellow each element almost to the base of the centre rib of the frond....even the suckers are acquiring this discolouration. Please advise...is it disease? nutritional deficiency? insect pest? I love the plant and would like to save it. |

| hi there firstly i would not use ck88 it is powerful . palms , cycads grow slowly and really benefit from a slow realease poultry pellet like dynamic lifter. Your cycad going yellow could well be a root disease as they prefer well drained soil and low moisture levels. |
