Root mealies on cacti and succulents..

Hi Guys,
I'm usually just a lurker in this forum as I spend most of my time over on the C&S pages, but thought I'd ask for some local advice on pesticides available in Australia for this old problem.
What good systemic insecticides are out there that I can use as a soil drench to take care of these little buggers? I have quite a large collection and so repotting every plant, cleaning it of bugs and repotting into fresh soil is obviously out of the question!
I have heard of the soapy water drench too, but am just thinking that a good systemic might be a good idea as it would take care of the regular kind of mealies, and scale, too.
Any advice would be muchly appreciated!
Cheers, Cactus Lis :) |

And don't they just love all the stapeliads the rotten little bu%%%ers. I tried everything from full strength metho nearly drowning them but they just Hicked and kept growing, but now I have been using those Systemic Granules they have gone. I am crossing my fingers that they will stay away. The fellow in the garden shop I was in today said the granules are good for the white lice that get on the ferns as well. Marion |
