Silver brown azalea leaves?

| I'm not much of a flower grower and I must admit that I know very little about azaleas. The azaleas were doing quite well till late summer when all of them started to go this unusual silver-brown colour. I think the leaves have small insects on the back that are black in colour. No webs on the leaves. What is it? Should I have sprayed them in midsummer? What is the best treatment? |

| Sounds like lace bug to me, spray around mid- September, try hosing down with a strong jet of water every week if you have no water restrictions |
