cycad is sick

hi all, i have a few cycads that have yellow leaves, some quite bad, ie all the leaves are yellow or turning yellow. one has rusty coloured spots on it. how can i help them.....??

It could be a 'scale insect' problem, common to cycads. Check the 'leaves' closely for the raised scale coverings, most likely on the lower leaves and on the under-side.

Unless the problem is severe, it probably won't kill the cycad, but you could use a white-oil solution. Depending on the size of your plant this could be difficult.

ok after checking the plant it has small white spots ( and yes they are raised so i guess this is what your talking about) on thw stem near to the soil and a few , not many on the leaves. what is white oil and where can i get it from.
