Help! Is this a worry?

This is a Mary Rose DA that has lost its leaves at the base in two days some healthy growth up the top. It looks like the base is blakening and diedback?Am I right?

| Hello there i suspect you have a root bacterial disease... grab some fongarid and drench the plant and also the leaves.... damian |
