Tick attack.

Ticks have appeared in my suburban garden for the first time. After suffering a third attack this season, I've reacted with many itchy red spots. Apart from protective clothing and using personal insect repellant, is there anything else I can do? Any garden sprays that will get rid of them? Just now I'm a bit paranoid about going anywhere near the garden!

How close are you to the coast, Roop?

Giacomo, I'm located about the centre of Newcastle - 2 or 3 kilometers from actual sea. There is a nature reserve within a kilometer, and I suppose there would be plenty of tick hosts in there - bandicoots etc. I haven't seen any unusual wild life in my area, though. Over the years there have been possums around, but never ticks before. Got any ideas on how to discourage them?
