fat lime branches and borers

| I have 2 limes in large terracotta pots, they seem to be coping well and produce large quantities of limes. My only problem is that something seems to be boring into the branches and in sections the branches are fat with obvious holes. Should I cut these branches off or is there something I can spray with? |

| Thanks for that info Peter, I have pruned infected branches previously and it seems to be re-infected in a different branch. I'm a little frightened to prune (anything) because I guess I just don't know when to do it and how much to take off.At the moment it's covered in limes, but looses a lot of little ones. |

Hi toby2 It does sound like the Citris gall wasp. If so you need to remove all infected galls and burn them before the end of August before wasps emerge and reinfestion occurs. I Do not believe you can treat it with any peticides |
