A relatively new bug in this backyard. First it colonised a couple of poinsettias so they were bagged and binned. Now there are heaps on a tough acalypha hedge on the shaded portion; I'll be wearing a dust mask when it's trimming time. Anyone else seeing this?

RE: whitefly

No I have not seen any in my garden ( yet ) mind you though I seem to have every other insect, bug, grub and disease known to man.

Just looking up my pest and disease book, it states they are attracted to bright yellow /orange boards, make them 30cms square, use four every twelve square mts. Cover the board with motor oil, insects fly into the boards and remain stuck there, clean and reapply the oil when it looses its stickiness.

Worth a try if you dont want to use chemicals.......MM

Thanks MM, I might get annoyed enough to try the boards if they stay around. Shan't be spraying them. It's Autumn now, perhaps they follow the calendar.
