Can anyone give me an update on how to stop these pests from eating everything in my garden. I have been trying to catch em and cut em or squash em - Ugh! Any other suggestions! This is after I have spent today cutting off so many leaves they have chomped. they love my cordylines.
thanks

I really have a phobia about the big ones. Someone mentioned recently that they can only jump FORWARD. I always wondered why I was the victim!!! Hand removal & destructionfor the big ones is the only way, sprays only work on little ones and then so much else gets damaged. You need to study up a bit on their life-cycle and where they lay their eggs for "PART 2 - RETURN OF THE GRASSHOPPERS coming to your garden next spring". Do some searches on the web, it's quite interesting. Early morning is best time to catch them when they are a little slower. I take a quarter bucket of hot water out on my watering mornings and what I can catch goes into it. |
