Bull ants

Have spied huge awful bull ants in my garden bed and I'm very wary of continuing with my plantings until they go.
Need some organic advice please.

RE: Bull ants

You could try boiling water - that will kill most of them, as well as soil microbes and earthworms, but it is organic!

You could try a mix of Bicarb. of Soda and Black Pepper.

RE: Bull ants

find the nest and continue to dig it over they will give up and move
They do seem to like compacted clay because it is hard and dry I suppose...hard means tunnels don't collapse and dry because it means no mould
Be careful that they don't move to anywhere else that is a problem for you
Remember that bullants are a good insect to have near a garden ...they are predators...and you must learn to coexist with nature (you are part of it) so tolerate them where they are not a problem
cheers
Peter
