white wax blobs on hibiscus

I am getting these blobs of white wax on my hibiscus. I dont like useing heavy sprays - would anyone know of a homemade remedy I could use?

Try spraying with this:
Mix 1 tablespoon of any cooking oil, 1 tablespoon of liquid washing up detergent (cheapest brand) with 1 litre of water and shake well. Only spray in the late afternoon after the sun is off the plants, and make sure the leaves and stems are well saturated. You can do it once a week, and after rain, as the rain washes it off.
