Controlling Grasshoppers

Any suggestions for controlling these guys? They are happy eating away at all I have!!!!

g'day bh,

the best way i know is to go out early in the morning before they get too much sun to warm them up they get too fast then, and catch and kill them.

Our local ABC gardening 'Guru' Tom Wyatt advises use treacle in a spray with water if you wish to avoid chemicals. It seems grasshoppers don't like the 'stickyness'on the leaves etc. HTH teddy,J

Len's a man after my own heart. Can't stomach chopping up the big ones, but I score lots of littles in the morning, take a bit of hot water in a bucket, just wander round, touch the plants, those tiddlers that hop off on the ground get trodden, the others go in the bucket. The water and the deadies get recycled.
