Bird problem

| Please help. I have just put sugarcane mulch in my garden and now all the black birds are digging in and around it, throwing the mulch everywhere. My garden looks a complete mess. I tried a commercial spray to get rid of them but it did not work, does anyone have any magic potions or suggestions other than netting. I'm desperate |

All our vegie beds are sugar cane mulched AND covered with Anti-bird Netting. We found this to be essential for the same reason as you are experiencing. Using the black type means that it is not visually obtrusive. John |

I tried using CD's hanging and foil baking trays cut into strips, the birds got used to them so I had to put down bird netting and I have managed to stop them from digging. I will leave it in place till the seedlings etc have put on some growth then remove it. They are pests, aren't they! Kerry |
