Spider Web on Lawn

Posted by ollied WA Aust (My Page) on Wed, Jan 15, 03 at 7:16
I reside in Perth and have noted recently patches of spider web appearing in my buffalow lawn. It is hard to tell however I believe there may also be small mites in the web but this is not easy to see. I have tried a general insecticide with no luck and also a general fingicide. I note a similiar problem posted by danny10 in March 2002 (Also of Perth) but have been unable to contact him, Can anyone assist? Please email ollied@tpg.com.au

Why reach for the insecticide before knowing what it is? You never know, it might even be natural/beneficial or a vital/transient part of a food chain. I say get rid of the stupid lawn and leave the spiders.

If you see the "Spider Webs" in the mornings covered with dew it's possibly Dollar Spot. Are there small brown patches of dead grass? If so this is generally Dollar Spot damage. Baylerton, if you want to spray, feed and water the lawn if you don't want to spray. Usually the lawn will get over it.
