Organic treatment for borers??

My poor ginger plants seem to get attacked every year. I have just decimated the three plants, cutting off all the affected spines. How can I prevent the attacks? I'd rather not use a systemic fertiliser as I am doing my best to maintain an organic garden, plus the ginger bed is right next to my fish pond.

I don't know about borers but this product works on everything else. It is totally organic, completely safe and can be sprayed on crops day of harvest. It will be officially released soon but is already available to those that know. Not cheap ($100 per litre) but you only use 2 to 3mls per litre so it goes a long way. This is the next generation of insecticides. Go to the link below and click on their research link. They also produce a range of organic fertilisers etc. click on products. regards,

Here is a link that might be useful: Organic Crop Protectants

Maybe they could put out 50ml containers for the average home garden - in my experience as a certified organic producer, some of these products are overpriced and overrated but they sell because there is no cheaper alternative for the certified organic industry (apart from bio-dynamics)
