Growing tulips in a glass vase

| I have seen tulips growing in a clear vase at Costco. I put some marbles in clear vases, brought water just to the top of the marbles and put the tulip bulbs on top. Should they be put into the refrigerator or kept in the dark? I have never done this before. Thanks |
