Is there a Salvia out there

Is there a Salvia out there that likes semi-shade. I have a bed under some trees where the Mona Lavender thrives, and wanted to intersperse them with something suitable.
Any ideas?

| I HAVE DENIM AND LACE SALVIA GROWING IN PARTIAL SHADE AND IT IS THRIVING, ACTUALLY IT IS RIGHT BESIDE THE FRONT DOOR UNDER A PORTICO SO REALLY ONLY GETS SPATTERINGS OF SUN. I JUST TURN THE POT EVERY FEW DAYS TO STOP THEM BENDING TOWARDS THE LIGHT. |

| Two I recommend are Salvia dorisiana (fruit salad sage -lime green leaves, pink flowers in winter and spring grows to 1 metre) and Salvia involucrata ‘Bethellii’ (Bethel Sage - pink flowers - grows to half a metre. Both are fairly easy to buy. In the shade they would need moisture. If you have rood competition try foliar feeds of water. Part shade is OK for both. Any darker stick with Plectranthus. ps Mona Lavender is a great plant but hates the wind - stems split! |

Dear Richmor, Most of the salvias I know grow well in the shade, there are a lot of perrenial salvias on the market now in punnet form and in small pots making them very affordable and once established very easy to strike. I've been very pleased with the plectanthrus "edelblau" available where you get Oasis punnets there are a few colours available under the name "fusions". The flowers of this one are almost jacaranda in colour and grow to at least 60cm with a purple/green leaf planted on mass they really look fantastic. Strikes very easily in water. Regards , Kirsten |

| I love salvia involucrata. I call it Rose Leaf sage. I wish to buy another as we moved and didn't get a chance to get some. |
