Planting jonquil, freesia & watsonia bulbs

I bought at a garage sale 2 large ice cream container fulls of the above bulbs. I live in Newcastle & I was wondering when is the best time to plant; how do I store them; where should I plant them; and what care I should give the plants. Some also got wet during the sale & seem to have started to sprout - should I just plant them?
Many thanks for any help. |

| Yes. Just plant them and leave them in position permanently no need to lift each year. |

Check if the Watsonias are on the pest plant list in your area. Some consider them to be in that category. John |

| Speaking of Watsonias, does anyone know of a supplier for the pretty mauve ones? Mail order or somewhere around Sydney preferred. I've found a local garden with them in flower at the moment, but they don't look like they've got that many, so I dare say they won't want to give any away yet. |
