Identification of Plant

Hi

I trying to identify a plant that I saw in my local botanical garden. It is tall and shrubby and looks a little like our native monarda. It was in a bed with some eucaluptus so I am assuming it comes from australia and would be treated as an annual. I couldn't find a tag to go with it. Maybe someone here can help me.

Thank you for any help you can provide from downunder.

Hi Jories_mom

This picture looks like a Leonotis (Lions Tail) to me.

Yes, I agree with Greathawks. It is Leonotis leonurus, a native of South africa.
Cheers,
Dee.

P.S. RE: Identification of Plant

Sorry, I should have mentioned that it is a perennial. I don't know your weather conditions, but I would imagine if you have really cold weather or snow You could over-winter it indoors or else grow it as an annual. It grows really easily from cuttings. It is a fast grower and very drought hardy.
Cheers,
Dee.
