Lupins you can usually get in packets in the Stores.
Russell Lupins are perennial so try diggers Seeds

Here is a link that might be useful: Diggers seeds

RE: Lupin Seeds

My lupins are blooming now. I will collect quite a lot of seed from them in a few months. If you are patient, you could contact me again in early Autumn and I will send you some for postage. They are a good colour mix.

How do you harvest lupin seeds and plant them?

RE: Lupin Seeds

I bought a 20g packet from Eden seeds last year so I have heaps to spare. If anyone wants some send me an email. We can do a swap of something.

As for sowing, I'm glad I bought a large packet because my initial attempts were terrible. Bacteria/fungus got them the first two times. Then when they did get up a huge slug decided it was her favorite evening snack! Anyway, I eventually got about fifty going via the following method.

It may be a bit extreme but its my standard no fail method for suseptible seeds and I don't have to use fungicides.

1) Sterilise seed (3% household bleach with a drop of detergent for 10 min)
2) Sterilise soil (steam or microwave)
3) Clean hands really well and flame a knife
4) Chit the lupin seeds
5) plant. in spring they all germinated within the week.

I planted mine into native tubes as they apparently have long tap roots and dislike being distrubed. I'm just about the plant them into the garden as they are sort of dormant at the moment.

cheers
karl
