Growing Gazanias

| I have been given over the last 12 months, cuttings of ganazias (eg. white, pink) including the roots. The stalks of these type are the thin variety. When I plant the stalks, roots and all into pots to get them established, they die. What am I doing wrong? |

Danann, gazanias grow almost as weeds here...and thrive on sheer neglect...I never water mine...they are growing in sandy soil...and generally we use them for that very purpose..plonk them in ignore and enjoy the flowering. I would suspect you are giving yours too much attention. Try growing them on in a garden bed rather than pots and see how you go...once established you can try potting up... Good luck Daz. |

| Same here! They grow wild on the golf course surrounds no problem. I did get some of my cuttings to take and ignoring them does seem to work. |

| I agree with the above comments - probably giving them too much water. I would also plant them in the ground. Make sure they get plenty of sun. |
