| Depending on season-Sweet peas, Carnations, Chrysanthemums, Cosmos, Stocks, Calendula, Limonium, Gypsophila, Poppies. Don't knock Dahlias and Lilies. |

Try growing some Spuria irises. They are carefree so long as they don't get too dry. The flowers are the best iris flowers for cutting - superior to the dutch irises used by florists. The colour range is amazing. Shasta daisies. Also Gerbera's and Lisianthus if you are lucky enough to be able to grow them. |

| then again, if you're into formal, why not hedge the beds with gardenias, there's a small variety now....is it veitchii or something? Tough and productive for me. Perfume can't be beaten for a fragrant cut flower. |
