| Basically cinerarias like light shade (full sun makes them collapse), good compost, no frost. Snails love them so be aware! You can put a bit of slow release fertiliser around them or feed them with a liquid fertiliser now and then. I don't always bother if the soil is good. They will bloom in late winter/early spring. When they finish flowering and the leaves start to look a bit tatty, you can cut them back quite low. You will often see some new shoots near the base and that is a good time to cut them back. They are usually grown as an annual but are actually a perennial. So, with a bit of luck, you will get more than one year out of at least some of them. Cheers, Dee. |
