| Some possibilities are; Nepeta cataria Nepeta x faassenii Salvia 'indigo spires' Salvia candelabrum Scutellaria incana Post again if none of those are the one you are talking about and I'll try to think of more. (don't suppose you have a photo??) Cheers, Dee. |

| Hi Dee, no, none of those - it really looks just like a lavender, i'll go and get a photo later, it's flowering at the moment so i'll post the pic up |

| Mmm, that's what I was beginning to wonder myself. Still, post a photo when you get it and we will know for sure. Cheers, Dee. |

I think it is Salvia azurea. It was grown as a Lavender substitute in older gardens, where growing conditions (especially summer humidity) made growing the "real" thing difficult. Rose-Marie |
Here is a link that might be useful: Salvia azurea

| It looks quite a lot like Lavandula pinnata (fern leaf lavender, lace lavender). If you break off a leaf and crush it, does it have a lavender aroma? Cheers, Dee. |

| no, not at all, no lavender smell, in the leaves anyway, did not smell flower, will do so tomorrow, there was a tag underneath it that was partly rubbed out, but risdoni is still visible if that helps anyone. and yes it does look like L. pinnata, i wonder if that plant has any aroma? |

| Well Emily, Lavandula pinnata does lack the typical fragrance assocciated with most lavenders, so it could possibly be that. The name 'risdoni' doesn't mean anything to me off-hand. The only thing I know of is Eucalyptus risdonii, which obviously has nothing to do with your plant. Are you sure the tag comes from this plant? Sorry I can't be of more help. Cheers, Dee. |

Could it be "Sidonie" and not "risdoni" as there exists a Lavandula pinnata Sidonie Rose-Marie |
