Lamium galeobdolon 'Hermann's Pride'

| Has anybody out there grown this variety of Lamium g.? I have Lamium galeobdolon, [the yellow archangel] the most beautiful of the Lamiums I reckon, except for one; the Hermann's Pride variety. When I ask about it at nurseries all I get in reponse is a puzzled look. Being a yellow flowering form, galeobdolon grows well in shade in the subtropics [zones 6 to 10] so I think Hermann's Pride should also. Does anybody know where I might be able to obtain this plant? |

| Don't know where you are in NSW funnelweb, but Parker's at Turramurra sometimes carries this form. Various of the mail order companies carry it also. (Don't ask me which one though. I do remember seeing it v. recently, as I was persuing the latest cats, but since I have it already, didn't bother with it, and have forgotten which ones stocked it). |

| Thanks Tamara, I'm up near Tweed Heads, Turramurra's a bit far to go for one plant but I'll make a note of 'Parkers' and go visit them next time I'm down there. Do you happen to have their address? |

I just bought one this weekend from a large U.S. store called Wal-Mart. They had about 50 for sale, so it is really being propagated heavily here in the states. It is very beautiful and will try it in all shade. I'm here in Houston, Texas so we get very hot weather all summer. I'll see how it holds up. It looks very easy to propagate with roots sprouting at any point where the stems touch the soil. David :-) |
