Cannas'

We planted a single red canna rhizome last spring and now its multiplied to 5 flower stalks. I would like to lift and divide and replant it now so that there will hopefully be a further increase before winter which will give us enough of them for a bed of cannas next spring. Is now the right time to lift and divide them?

Because I live in Queensland I do it anytime, actually I have to lift them often and throw them away as they multiply so thick and fast here.

But you live down south so should lift and divide in the late winter or spring, if you do it now there might not be enough warm weather for them to shoot again so its best you leave them alone and let them do what they need to do so they can be divided later. E-mail me if you want some seeds.

Thanks Misty, sounds like good information to me.

Hi all

Don't know if anyone can help but I seemed to have a whole lot of what look like wild miniature cannas, they're red with a very small insignificant flower. They come up ebverywhere. I think many of the seeds are dropped by birds.Does anyone know what they are please?
