ranunculi varieties?

Last spring Big W was selling as potted colour large double ranunculi. I have bought ranunculi bulbs many times, but they have never been as large a double as what BigW was selling.
So my question is are there several varieties of Ranunculi and who is selling these large bulb types?
Also I heard that some Ranunculi's are grown from seed? |

| Yes, there are several varieties of Ranunculus as you will find if you look for the bulb companies. I have some seed I am going to plant soon to see how long they take from seed. |
