ISO Lilium formosanum

I know, I know.....it's a registered weed here in Australia....but it's so bloody beautiful. When I lived in Sydney I would often see it flowering in March whenever I'd go up to the mountains. It was stunning to look at: 2m spires with long slender trumpets flushed with wine-purple.

I'd love to get my hands on the bulbs/seeds.

I read on a website for Knox city (Melbourne) that it's there as a weed around the Chandler Hill area. Tried to find it but had no luck whatsoever.

Could anyone help me, please?

I've never seen this lily sold anywhere.

Ilijasx.

Send me a SSAE, and I will send you some seed. I have a fair amount from someone in the Aussie bulb group, It would be about 1 year old, and I haven't tried it yet.
Contact me off list,
Cheers, Jan also in Vic.

Lilium formosanum is a great lily! They have a few clumps at the Botanic Gardens in Hobart, which I visited yesterday. They aren't flowering yet but they are sooooo tall, taller then me. I'm going to go back in a few weeks and take some photos, they are very beautiful.
