I bought a yellow impatiens - the id tag was a just generic one which said they are an annual.
Is this correct? How does the yellow one perform?
Thanks all. |

| Has it flowered yet? There's a trailing yellow one with small rounded leaves and an unusual flower (name escapes me at the moment) there is also a range which were called "seashell" slightly different to the normal impatiens flower but very pastel yellow, tangerine. The latter just grow like bedding impatiens, they are not "annuals" in the sense of only lasting one year, but they get a bit ratty and benefit from a prune and of course you try to strike cuttings to perpetuate them. I have one of the seashells ones it never seems to set seed. |

| Yes Alison, it was in flower when I bought it and it's still flowering. It's a kind of apricoty yellow with apricot inside the flower. I believe it is called an African Orchid Impatiens (the flower is supposed to look like an orchid). I've got my monies worth already. I intended planting it in the ground, but it's still in the pot to date. I hope to try to strike some cuttings after it stops flowering. |
