Dahlia - help needed

I would like to grow some medium to tall single type dahlias. Can anyone suggest some reliable varieties and tell me where I can get them from.

The local nurseries only sell annual types or exotic looking types.

Hi smithy is it the tubers you are after, if so it is the wrong time of the year to buy them as they are flowering now. But in the Spring they can be bought everywhere, K Mart, Big W, Bunnings, mail order.

I have three colours flowering now Pink, White, and a burgandy with white tips if they are the ones you are after, e-mail me if you want some tubers and I will send them to you for postage later on in the year when they have finished flowering here are some Pics

This last one is not a good Pic, its a dark burgandy and I also have a pink one that is almost the same colour as the last pic they are all a meter tall.

MM.

Hi Smithy,
A good place to start would be the many Bulb Suppliers, in the southern states, Mail order or on- line orders. Some of these offer growing notes,

May be able to help, but to get the exact one's you want will take a bit of trading/time. Good luck. Peter r

There used to be a specialist mail order Dahlia company. I couldn't see it on a google search today though. Does anyone know of it?
