all of the info at the queensland dpi and on google indicate that mangostenes won't fruit south of townsville -

has anyone tried to grow them in SE Queensland?

have you got them to fruit??

I'm thinking of buying a mangostene - as the last fruit tree I'm allowed to have - - but it's not worth getting them if they don't fruit

cheers

RE: mangostene in southern queensland

I know that the yellow mangosteen does quite well in SE Qld but I reckon they taste crap. The purple Mangosteen is more tropical and tastier and I know of some people who have told me that they have had limited success with them in the Bundaberg area.

Andrew.
