Screening plants for Brisbane

Hi, we have a small garden area which we are redesigning.
We have a row of mondo grass, followed by rheos, some other plant I cant remember (!) then a row of lillies.
We are looking at putting some screening plants against the fence at the back. We don't want the plant to go any Higher than 2 metres and have a fairly compact spread.
We want an overall trpocial theme so we are thinking maybe some find of palm.
Does anyone have any ideas what we could use? We are basically beginner gardeners! |

| Hi Dave and welcome, How about some Callistemon( bottle brush) they are very bushy, Hibiscus when pruned regular are very tropical looking you can keep them at the height you want, ferns grow that high There are clumping bamboo's that grow to 3mts you could prune to where you want them. Gingers, Cycads, Cordyline, Dwarf date Palm. What about a creeper on that fence. Hope this helps a little. MM. |
