Manila/Christmas Palm

Hi
I am thinking of using the above plams on my footpath (Adonidia Merrrillii) - does anyone have any experience with them in Brisbane - I do get some pretty strong winds during the winter. Does anyone know where to get some decent ones (sun hardend and not 30cms tall - the only ones I can find at the moment).
cheers
steve

RE: Manila/Christmas Palm

Steve,

I have a number of them in my garden, they are one of my favourite palms. I grew young ones down in Brisbane many years ago when I lived there but they were not put in the ground. They grow well in exposed positions so the wind won't worry them. I know that Palms for Brisbane sell reasonable sized plants but if you are coming up this way Gardel nursery at Hervey Bay sells plants about 1 metre high for around $15 each.

Andrew.
