Singapore plant export with permits

Hi, I am off to Singapore on Sunday and would like to bring back some plants in flasks with phytosanitary permits: any lead would be appreciated: I want more than the single tourist packaged orchids.
Thanks for your help

There are nurseries at Singapore botanic gardens and several commercial orchid nurseies that are easy to find who can supply sterile flask specimens. I do recommend that you speak to quarantine people first before you leave - its a lot easier if you get a permit in advance.

This post is a little late but then:

If you need a phyto cert, you may have to bring the plants to the AVA whilst in singapore (http://www.ava.gov.sg/) to have them inspected. I'm not sure about this but I think the AVA does not treat your plants they just ensure that they are pest and disease free. (treatment you have to get it done somehow somewhere). The cost of a phyto cert after inspection is S$18.00.

If you need a CITES cert, that is also available from the AVA.

It is best to talk to nurseries in advance to get these arrangements done up first.

Thanks to both members that replied. Ended up finding some flasks in Kuala Lumpur: bought 4 flasks with at least 30-40 plantlets in each: unfortunately 1 flask was broken during the trip and had to be left behind in the Cameron Highlands I gave it to a hotel gardener in the hope he could salvage them.
They are all different kinds of hybrids: the lady could not tell me too much about the parentage of the plants.
No problem on arrival in Cairns: just declared the flasks and they went through without the certificates. You can actually bring 6 flasks per person.
I also had some rubber tree seeds but these were confiscated. The quarantine man suggested to check on their site to see if some plants are on the prohibited list before spending the money buying the seeds.
Took lots of photos and can't wait to pot theses plantlets i the next few weeks: anne with a special potting mix that is a sure shot with orchids?
Thanks again,
Mike

Mike, I am interested as to what orchids you picked up in Cameron Highlands? That place is gorgeous and wonderfully cool to grow alot of subtropical/temperate stuff like cymbidiums and many decidous dendrobiums. Bet you have better stuff (Dendrobium speciosum) at home in Australia!
