Growing Eltingera Venusta by Seed

I purchased some Etlingera Venusta seeds in mid August. I planted them at this time in seed raising mixture in a small seed tray in a shade house. They have been getting plenty of water and indirect light. I was hoping someone could tell me what the germination time of these seeds are and if I should continue waiting or if I have totally ruined any chance of getting these to grow. Any advice would be much appreciated.

RE: Growing Eltingera Venusta by Seed

I purchased some off Ebay and they were obviously quite old. Did a bit of a search and much to my disgust discovered that even tho the seeds came from Australia they seem to have been imported from overseas. I dont think Aquis would approve and I certainly would not have purchased if I had known. Needless to say they did not grow. If you purchased thro the same source and want to do a check you can go through the sellers feedback listed for the ebay seller to see where they are sourcing their seeds. This will not pick up private sales but will give you an idea if seeds you buy are 2nd, third or forth hand and consequentially probably stale. I have had some good buys through Ebay but unfortunately I have had more bad experiences than good.
