Has anyone had experience growing Kentia Palms in a semi-frost area? Looking at planting in Gippsland. Need to find small hardy palm.

Kentias certainly survive mild frosts but I'm not absolutely clear about what you mean by semi-frost. If you are near the coast I don't think you should have any worries, but obviously inland areas will get colder.

Forget Kentia palms I have seen them die from frost just west of Newcastle in NSW, try trachycarpis fortunii it is a small growing fan palm with no spikes and I have seen a large one growing just south of Armadale in NSW.
