| Does anyone know where it might possible to obtain Musella lasiocarpa? I think they look amazing and would make a great addition to my subtropical themed garden. Any ideas?

Don't they look cool?!

If its a banana you would have no hope of getting one here in Queensland.. And even less over there in WA... |

| Its a pity, because these are very popular in the UK and US, so why is Australia so restrcitive? We don't all like natives. lol |

| I know, but given how sensitive our banana industry is maybe its for the best. Why can't we just import bananas from the Phillipines? |

Musella is in Sydney: go to website www.musellaaustralia.com Apparantly, the Musella Lasiocarpa now in Aust.took 4 years to get through Quarantine and is far superior to what is available in USA. It's been a bloody long-wait. In reference to the above comments. Qld and N.T and northern N.S.W will never allow this plant in. WA may eventually, but its gonna take a while. And it looks like you may get your wish adamharbeck: The ignoramus Biosecurity have ignominiously done a backflip on phillipino bananas- this is absolutely devistating news for the aussie banana industry and for the now unusual notion of keeping some aussie money and jobs in Australia. |
