Can someone tell me when to harvest Jackfruits and Breadfruits:so far they have hit the ground in a big mush and I missed all of them.
Would like to pick for home consumption.

First sign is change of colour, you can smell them and they give a little bit when pushed. It is a bit difficult when the fruit is high on the tree but this year most of my fruit is only several inches from the ground!

Well, you can still use the young fruit for your curry, (no need to remove the seed) - it's delicious.......

oh man...ari, if i was close enough, i would come and get some from you... let me ask you: when you first planted your jackfruit tree (was it from seed or cutting?), how long before you got fruit? and how many fruits per tree? do fruit bats attack your tree??? heh...maybe we can hook something up where we can arrange for you to ship it to me or something...heh.
