just wondering how many people have these, i got one a while back and i love it, how rare are they? Any cultivation tips? they come from madagascar dont they?
This is an African species and likes it very wet . I have not heard of anyone growing it . P.madagascariens is quite rare and bit tricky to grow . Good luck with it . Could you tell me where you got it from , a mate is very keen about these and his birthday is coming up soon , it would make the perfect gift for him.
Thanks for that confirmation , thought it may have been Murray , as he had P.madagascariens for sale once, and seems to be one of the few importing such rarities. One hint for excellent growth with most platyceriums , is to place a parcel of leaf mould or good compost behind the shield of the plant when mounting , also when it gets established , a handfull of dynamic lifter every season will really boost growth . Funny watching my mate climbing high up in his poinciana with a bucket full full of dynamic lifter feeding his precious collection .
