Unusual Banana

Hi, I live some of the time in Bangkok and last week I purchased a banana plant for my house garden here. I can't find what type it is: mainly because of the language barrier. It is a very stout trunk with leaves that arise stifly.I remember seeing a group of them in the Singapore botanical gardens. I don't think it is an edible fruiting banana. At 2.5m tall the trunk is 60cm and the leaves are only few centimetres from the ground. Very large rosette formation. I think there was a small plant in the Cairns Botanical garden also a couple of years ago.
Thank you

I think what you described is an Ensete superbum. Mine one matches what you described. A beautiful and architectural plant.
