Costus stenophylus Bamboo ginger

Has anyone ever grown this plant,will it handle a Brisbane climate.Any feedback would be appreciated.

I grow it in Bundaberg, does well here so depending on where you are in Brisbane it should grow ok for you.

I have mine for over one year now and it survived the last winter well. Will have to see about this winter. I believe this Costus will not tolerate temperatures below 5 deg C. My impression is this plant grows slowly and will take some years to reach become a large clump where one could appreciate the banded stems.

I also have it here in Brisbane. Does no do as well as some of the other Costus and is very slow growing. Mine is still alive.
