Another Tropical plant network

The International Tropical Foliage & Garden Society has been up and running, based out of Bundaberg, for about 18 months.
I haven't had much involvement so far, due to distance, however they have been quite active with meet-ups, garden visits and producing a bi-monthly part colour newsletter.
For those in SEQ, a sub-branch has now been formed, known as the Border Districts Branch of the ITFGS (SEQ).
An inaugural meeting was held today in Brisbane at the home of a serious (and I mean serious LOL) bromeliad collector and grower . There was a good roll-up, some official decisions were made in short order and then we got about the intended business, plants.
Membership to the Border Districts Branch will be free to all members of the main Society. BDB meetings are intended to be held Sunday mornings, 1st of each month, at a variety of locations. Plant raffles, sales etc and the opportunity to chat plants and to meet other gardeners.
Anyone interested please contact me for details to the ITFGS, who will then in turn notify the BDB convener to add your details for notice of future meet-ups (which may include a gathering to coincide with Nambour show)
ITFGS annual membership is currently $25 a single and $27 for a family and of course entitles you to all the benefits of the Society as well as the sub-branch.

As Alison said, anyone in the Brisbane area interested in becoming a member can contact her for information. If you are out of the Brisbane area you can contact myself or visit our website at at www.itfgs.org (still under construction) for information regarding the society.

The International Tropical Foliage and Garden Society Inc. is a non profit organisation dedicated to tropical foliage and tropical gardening in general. Many of our members live out of Queensland or in other countries. Their only contact being our bi-monthly publication 'Tropical Topics' which has received much praise even from our members as far away as Hawaii and mainland U.S.
